A Concord man has been charged with shooting a monument to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with paintballs, authorities said Monday. Police discovered the monument on Cabarrus Avenue had been shot by paintballs last week. Investigators say information led them to suspect Matthew Scarborough, 18.

He was arrested Monday and charged with one count of injury to property.
